CLEARY BIKES TO ATTEND OUTDOOR RETAILER
Lightweight, durable, kids bikes.
Sausalito, California, December 20th — For the first time in show history, the Outdoor Retailer Outdoor + Snow Show includes bicycles. Cleary Bikes is making a debut appearance, with bikes that power the future of cycling. From Brooklyn to Boulder; Fruita to Portland, Cleary turns kids into cyclists.
Cleary’s story and bikes are unique. Cleary designs bikes for kids and kids only, devoting years of R&D and attention to detail, to ensure every tube, angle, weld and component part create a balanced, responsive ride.
Cleary bikes are streamlined and sleek, without extraneous parts to weigh them down. Internally routed brake cables on the three smaller models (Gecko (12”), Hedgehog (16”) and Owl (20”) protect the brake line, eliminate metal tabs sticking out of the frame (nothing to poke little legs or catch on shorts) and create a simple, sleek aesthetic.
Geared bikes: Owl (20”), Meerkat (24”), Scout (24”) and Scout (26”) boast internally geared hubs, with the entire drivetrain encased in a Sturmey Archer aluminum rear hub body. This sturdy, lightweight drivetrain looks trick and shifts smoothly, with minimal maintenance for thousands of miles.
To finish the package, Cleary wraps its unique bike builds in distinct, gender neutral colors that stand out.
The Cleary Meerkat 24” is a contestant for the 2020 Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards. The Meerkat is the first kid’s commuter bike, featuring Sturmey Archer internally geared 5-speed drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, low-rise alloy handlebar, tubeless ready rims, rack mounts and a ton of soul.
The versatile Meerkat package is truly innovative–this one bike offers older grade schoolers a safe, cool, bombproof ride to school while being equally capable on trail rides, bike park sessions and whatever else a child dreams up.
