  Kodiak Launches New Winter Boots for Fall/Winter 2020

  New styles added to the brand’s men’s and women’s winter boot collections highlighted by new technology and performance features

  Cambridge, Ontario, January 3^rd, 2020 – Kodiak, the pioneering boot brand that has been making footwear built for Canadian winters since 1910, is expanding their collection of snow boots for the Fall/Winter 2020 season. Designed with premium insulation and ground-gripping outsoles the new collection for men and women feature was built to handle winter’s worst.

  WOMEN’S CLARESHOLM, FLOE, AND GLACIAL WINTER BOOTS

  For those who call the city their backyard, the new women’s Claresholm was inspired by urban style and built for snowy streets and avenues. Featuring seam-sealed waterproof leather uppers and a waterproof membrane construction the Claresholm boots are packed with 400gm of Thinsulate™ insulation and carry a comfort rating of -20°C/-4°F for dry warmth and coziness all winter long. A slip-resistant rubber outsole allows the wearer to tread through the town in confidence. The Claresholm (MSRP: $180 USD/$185 CAN) comes in Black Muddy River, Pewter Grey Muddy River, and Ivory Waterbuck. 

  Wet, icy streets become even more navigable with an update of the Vibram® Arctic Grip® outsole featuring a walkable heel in the new Floe and Glacial styles for women. SaltShield™ technology, which repels salt stains without damage or discoloration to leather, keeps boots looking new, while waterproof leathers and a waterproof membrane construction keep feet warm and dry. The Vibram® Arctic Grip® outsole provides unparalleled traction on wet ice even in the most extreme conditions, and 200gm Thinsulate™ insulation and Ortholite® comfort foam footbed keep feet warm and protected from the ground up. Floe (MSRP: $175 USD/$205 CAN) and Glacial (MSRP: $190 USD/$230 CAN) are both available in Black Snowplow leather and Comfort rated at -20°C/-4°F.

  MEN’S DUNDONALD, ROVER II, AND RHODE II WINTER BOOTS

  Inspired by those who embrace the forecast, the men’s winter collection is led by the Dundonald, designed with a waterproof, SaltShield™ full-grain leather upper, and waterproof membrane construction. The inside zip function makes these boots easy to slip into, and the Vibram® Arctic Grip® outsole is engineered to perform on wet ice. 200gm Thinsulate™ insulation and a comfort rating of -30°C/-22°F allow the wearer to venture into the snow feet first. The Dundonald (MSRP: $175 USD/$205 CAN) comes in Black Whirlpool leather. 

  In addition to the Dundonald, the Rover II and Rhode II are also part of the men’s winter collection and feature the Vibram® Arctic Grip® outsole and 400gm of Thinsulate™ insulation. The Rover II is built with IMPER-X, a construction technology that uses water resistant materials and sealed seams to provide dependable comfort to footwear; while the Rhode II is a fully waterproof winter boot with waterproof full-grain leather and a waterproof membrane construction. Both boots are designed with SaltShield™ leather that repels salt stains. The Rover II (MSRP: $155 USD/$195 CAN) is available in Black Iceberg leather; and the Rhode II (MSRP: $175 USD/$210 CAN) is available in Dark Blown Snowplow leather. Both are Comfort rated to -30°C/-22°F.

  Inspired by the original Greb Kodiak boot, an iconic piece of the brand’s history, and the first work boot to be made waterproof with a combination of vulcanized construction and waterproof leather, the Fall 2020 men’s McKinney and the women’s Bralorne styles feature an 8” boot, 6” boot, and a Chelsea boot. While all boots are dual-certified with a CSA and ASTM approved composite toe and composite plate, select models are also available in soft toe, EH versions.

  The men’s McKinney collection, a rugged, trustworthy and durable line of industrial boots, is crafted for protection and comfort on the job. The McKinney 8” boot (MSRP: $174.99 USD/$179.99 CAN), available in brown, is designed with the classic Kodiak^® signature full bellows leather tongue and a red and black buffalo plaid top collar liner. Full grain waterproof leather and waterproof membrane construction and 200gm of Thinsulate™ insulation combine to deliver a dry and warm wearing experience.

  The McKinney 6” boot (MSRP: $164.99 USD/$169.99 CAN), like its taller 8” brethren, features, a classic Kodiak boot design with a bellows leather tongue, integrated pull-tab and padded collar. Full grain waterproof leather and waterproof membrane construction keep feet dry.  The 6” is available in brown.

  The McKinney Chelsea boot (MSRP: $149.99 USD/$159.99 CAN) with an integrated pull tab and double gore panels, is easy to slip into and out of and is designed with waterproof leather and an abrasion resistant lining. The Chelsea is available in brown and black.

  All three McKinney boots – the 8”, 6”, and Chelsea - are packed with additional performance features including Kodiak^® SOS Smell Out Science^® odor control technology which breaks down foot odor that causes bacteria; abrasion resistant linings; premium dual density Comfortzone® footbed with Ortholite® comfort foam; and an oil and slip resistant rubber outsole that offers maximum traction and durability under foot. 

  Women’s Bralorne 8”, 6” and Chelsea Boots

  The all new Fall 2020 women’s Built for Generations work boots, were designed in concert with the men’s collection. Built on a comfort platform, all three silhouettes feature Kodiak’s premium dual density Comfortzone® footbed with Ortholite® comfort foam. The Bralorne 8” features a unique double layer upper with waterproof leather upper and red and black buffalo plaid. Full grain waterproof leather and waterproof membrane construction, and the oil and slip resistant outsole keeps you dry and steady on your feet, while the 200gm of Thinsulate™ insulation keeps you warm. The Bralorne 8” (MSRP: $164.99 USD/$169.99 CAN) is available in brown.

  The Bralorne 6” (MSRP: $154.99 USD/$159.99 CAN) was inspired by the iconic Kodiak Surrey lifestyle hiker and is crafted with full grain waterproof leather and waterproof membrane construction, comfort padded collar, and an oil and slip resistant outsole. The Bralorne 6” is available in brown.

  The new women’s Cloverdale Plaid and Canora Plaid silhouettes are Kodiak’s hero boots for Fall 2020. Inspired by the Kodiak Original work boot, also known as the Greb boot, the Cloverdale and Canora integrate work boot function with on-trend style via seam-sealed waterproof leather uppers with statement collars lined with a soft-to-the touch Buffalo plaid lining. Waterproof membrane construction combines with a removable leather-covered, dual-layered EVA and Ortholite footbed to keep feet dry and comfortable. Both the Cloverdale and Canora feature a premium leather-welt with a wooden stacked heel that supports Kodiak’s signature slip-resistant rubber chevron outsole. The 200 gm Thinsulate® insulation Cloverdale Plaid 9½” boot (MSRP: $200USD/$210CAN) is available in Wheat Muddy River premium leather, while the Canora Plaid 7½” boot (MSRP: $185 USD/$195 CAN) is available in Cocoa Maiden and Black Muddy River premium leathers.

  For men, the Fall 2020 season brings refined ruggedness in the form of the McKernan, a classic 4” chukka and the Clayburn 5” city boot, featuring premium waterproof leather uppers and removable pre-molded Clarino ® footbeds. Crafted with a leather welt, a lightweight EVA heel and Kodiak’s signature chevron mini-lug rubber outsole combine to deliver all-day comfort. 

  The McKernan chukka (MSRP: $165 USD/$170 CAN) will be available in rich copper brown Loco Horse leather and rugged black Muddy River leather; and the Clayburn (MSRP: $175 USD/$180 CAN) will be available in a smooth black Prague Leather and rich copper brown Loco Horse leather.
