  • A new generation of ecological PU coatings with water vapour permeability

    Today, nearly all “breathable“ PU direct coatings are applied from solvent systems. These products partly contain very harmful and environmentally hazardous solvents.
    To solve the “solvent“ problem, RUDOLF GROUP developed ECO-VENT®:

    A water-based coating solution that opens up new perspectives for numerous coated fabrics, which are permeable to water vapour and, thus, breathable.

    The optimum PFC-free, waterproof and breathable protective clothing can be finished with RUDOLF’s cluster of supreme technologies:

    1. Outer fabric finished with BIONIC-FINISH® ECO
    2. Direct coating made from ECO-VENT®
    3. Lining with moisture control due to hydrophilic HYDROCOOL®

    The RUDOLF GROUP has answered these questions by means of the scientific branch Bionic.

    Bionic does not mean to just imitate nature, but to realise its functional principles and to transfer them to technical solutions. Thus, novel, sustainable and ecologically advantageous technologies for durable water repellent effects have been developed.

    Hydrophobic finishing with BIONIC-FINISH® ECO is based on a fluorine-free recipe. Hyperbranched, hydrophobic polymers with ramified structures like in tree tops orientate in an orderly manner on the textile and crystallise on specifically adjusted comb polymers. The optimum arrangement of many of these functional elements is highly effective. Additional boosters (crosslinking agents) ensure the optimum attachment and durability on many fibre substrates.
