Chris DeGaetano is the founder and president of Mountain and Isles. His passion for the outdoors inspired him to expand the business into the men’s and women’s outdoor lifestyle category with the creation of Mountain and Isles. DeGaetano sat down with Outdoor Industry News and answered a few questions about their company.
Q: What’s new at Mountain and Isles?
A: We have become known for our fun patterns and prints, color blocking, and blending of performance features and fashion. This year we are going even bigger! We have added a swim line, are using bolder colors and prints, and leaning into what makes Mountain and Isles special.
Q: What makes your company different from other brands out there?
A: We fill the white space between traditional outdoor apparel and fashion, creating high-quality, multiuse products that are performance based and look amazing! We develop products with our retail partner’s customers in mind and drive sales by providing a strong value proposition that keeps their customers coming back again and again for our newest products.
Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success?
A: We are relentless in our goal to create the best products possible and are constantly asking our customers what we can do better, how we can improve our products, and what we can do to help them. We build long-term relationships with our partners, so we focus on doing what is best for them in the long term, not what helps us the most immediately.
